#HaddiesHaven #Review: House of Crimson and Clover series (Books 1 & 2 & 3) by Sarah M. Cradit | Collective Review

Hello, Haven Invaders! Today's post is a bit of a collective review, because I recently joined a new review crew, and one of the series we are currently reading is the House of Crimson and Clover series by Sarah M. Cradit. If you don't know who this author is, you had better check her out, ASAP, because she is bomb.

The books I am gonna be sharing are Volumes One through Three (The Invasion of Eventude, Bound, Midnight Dynasty), and I am gonna try my best to avoid spoilers as much as possible. If you remember last summer when I read Hanna Peach's Dark Angel series, I posted a review after each time I finished one or more of the books. I am basically going to do that, but reviewing three books at a time. I mean, this series is huge! And I am hoping to be completely caught up before the next book releases in March. All of the book(s) information will be shown before my review. But if you wish to add the books to your Goodreads list, CLICK HERE. (Also, I apparently own the first book. I found it in my Kindle while looking through my "Organize These" collection.)

Nicolas Deschanel was betrayed by the only two people who matter to him. Their disloyalty stung and an overwhelming sense of loss lingers. Nicolas has lived the high life professing to not have a care in the world, and now this illusion is calling his bluff.

Determined to take control of an existence now devoid of purpose, he sojourns to his family's holiday home on the Gulf of Mexico. Resolved more than depressed, he plans to privately say goodbye to a world which no longer needs him. Of questionable fortune, he finds a woman, Mercy, sitting alone on the shore at eventide. Nicolas is conflicted between an obligation to help, and annoyance at her intrusion.

Mercy has many layers of secrets. Deepest of all, she cannot tell this Child of Man she is thousands of years old and very powerful. In her presence, Nicolas' own dormant powers begin to surface, triggering a sequence of events that cause both of their lives to spiral further out of control. When old friends from both sides come to help, together they all learn a painful truth: new life can only begin once you've set free what means the most.

Finnegan St. Andrews has lost everything. His perspective on the world is forever changed.
Anasofiya Deschanel no longer knows who she is...or what. She longs both for what she has, and all she has left behind.
Aidrik the Wise has vowed to do anything for his evigbond. As he watches her life force slowly ebb, he begins to understand the sacrifice he must make to save her.
All three individuals are bound by love, promises, and the undeniable threads of fate.

The Deschanel Curse, dormant for a decade, has returned with a vengeance.
Seers across the family are coming together, hopeful the Deschanel Magi Collective can solve this malediction that has plagued the family for nearly two centuries.
But how do you combat the blood oath of a grieving mother?
As the body count rises, it becomes apparent that strength, love, and ancient power provide no protection from destiny's cruel hand.

MY REVIEW(S)

The Illusions of Eventide (House of Crimson and Clover, #1)The Illusions of Eventide by Sarah M. Cradit
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Right, so, it doesn't usually take me so long to read a book, but I have to say that with this one, it was necessary. Because it took me quite a while to get into the book. It is very detailed and new characters are brought in quite a bit. The story was a bit overwhelming at first, but that aside, it really is a great story. Characters grab you. Nicolas was jumping off the pages. Mercy had me worried for a bit, but she came around.

I give this 4.5 stars. I enjoyed the author's writing. I'm already starting the next book and I cannot wait to keep going!

Bound (House of Crimson & Clover #2)Bound by Sarah M. Cradit
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book for honest review.

I absolutely loved this! I love how determined Finn is to get Ana back, and be a father. I love this is more of a love story. Love stories are my thing. Granted, my heart was bleeding for a while, but its totally worth it in the end. Total page turner! And that ending! Oh my gosh! So amazing!

My favorite passage:

Midnight Dynasty (The House of Crimson & Clover #3)Midnight Dynasty by Sarah M. Cradit
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book for honest review.

I need more of the story and the characters. RIGHT NOW! I am starting to adore, LOVE, these stories. I do know this book was originally 3 parts, and I've gotta say that I am glad I was able to read it as one book. I would not have been able to wait for the next part to release if I had read it back in 2014. I would have gone insane. I love the new characters and how the story mingles GOLD (older characters), with SILVER (newer characters). This series is becoming additive. And in a very good way. I can't wait to keep going!

And can we take a moment to admire the covers? Each of these covers give a smallish hint as to what we can expect in the story, but then not quite. They are mysterious and full of intrigue. They captivate you as a reader. Sarah is working on her tenth and final book in the series! You know I'm gonna be waiting for that! Which is why I'm reading to catch up.
